Is this still being developed? Pretty cool tool. | User Comment Submitted by Ed on 28 July 2007
Nice. Been trying this out for a while to get back some of my old c64-sources into the pc-environment.
What about doing something with graphics-rip also? :D Ie. multicolor bitmap, F.L.I, etcetera.

customizable color schemes for the gui ? | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 22 February 2007
So it's pascal?
Hmm. I'll have a look around. Maybe the gui can either be easily replaced or it can use X11 on osx. | User Comment Submitted by Bones99 on 19 February 2007
I suppose the rudimentry source could be re-compiled using freepascal or lazarus targeted at mac-os, but that would mean stripping out most of the nice GUI functionality and resorting back to plain old buttons and panels etc. | User Comment Submitted by Jak T Rip on 19 February 2007
Is this tool portable? (Mac OSX is the way to go!)
I have many concepts for perfect disassembling... maybe they should be taken over!? I have included my routines to Omikron reassembler and will release those soon, but cross-disassembling does make sense... | User Comment Submitted by null on 16 February 2007
"Technically yes, as a matter of fact I am working towards developing this into an all inclusive development IDE including
sprite editor, character editor and even a music editor, .. but right now its not all that easy to use as an editor."
if that happens, it would be totaly rad. | User Comment Submitted by Laxity on 16 February 2007 User Comment Submitted by Bones99 on 15 February 2007
Rosetta dissassembler
By Jason reid (Kline9 [*at*] yahoo.com)
What is rosetta ?
-----------------
Rosetta is a disassembler and ripper for the C64 platform.
What can it do ?
----------------
Rosetta will take a .prg file and dissassemble it completely including the data .. the format of the output is well suited
to the ACME cross-assembler but others should work with a little modification of the code. Rosetta now generates branch
labels too.
Whats the grid thingy on the left?
----------------------------------
This is simply a byte representation of the .PRG file , notice that you can right click it and select to display
in HEX,DECIMAL or ASCII.
Can I use this to write code?
-----------------------------
Technically yes, as a matter of fact I am working towards developing this into an all inclusive development IDE including
sprite editor, character editor and even a music editor, .. but right now its not all that easy to use as an editor.
Bear in mind that if you make changes to the code you may will mess up the byte order of the file and the
branches may not work anymore.
What does the sprite ripper do?
-------------------------------
The sprite ripper can help you find and extract the sprites (Graphics) from your favorite games.please bear in mind that
most games are compressed and you will not be able to see the sprites , you can get around this problem by loading the
game into your favorite emulator and then saving the state and re-loading it back into rosetta .
What do I do once I've found the sprites/data I want ?
------------------------------------------------------
Make a note of the beginning of the first sprite and the end of the last sprite (you can see your current position
in the program, at the bottom of the screen in the status bar. The middle tab should say something like Pos = $C000)
, then Click Tools--->Memory dump in the main menu , enter the Start address, the End address and file name then those
consecutive bytes will be saves to the filename you indicated.
Why are you releasing it if its not finished?
---------------------------------------------
Although its not finished I think it is still VERY usefull if you just use a little imagination, Also I'm hoping
some people might start using it and help me find bugs ;)
My fonts are all funny..
------------------------
I have included some C64 fonts in the archive you'll want to install these and if neccessary set them up in the
Settings-->Font menu.
Can I have the source ?
------------------------
