Lotta thanks, that did the thing!

That .JPG was just a quickie I threw together to test out a rough estimate how much the overlay part can take, all the actual works will be fed in as .PNG's.

Try running acme by hand, ie just type in acme koe.jpg.a it seems the error is because it doesn't like the ./ which should be .\ on win.

btw, jpg?? is that the best format for image conversion?

I could have use for some advice, I've tried to convert screencap to hires + overlay executable and fixed source image to the state where vicpack doesn't give error message about too much sprites anymore but now...

C:\TEMP\vicpack>vicpack -overlay -p -pepto -border 0 koe.jpg

...ends to...

./acme.exe koe.jpg.a
./acme.exe koe.jpg.a
Command ./acme.exe koe.jpg.a exited with code 127

...ending up with 5 files with no .PRG among them:

10.09.2011 10:48 1 664 koe.jpg-sprites.bin
10.09.2011 10:48 3 979 koe.jpg-swap.a
10.09.2011 10:48 1 000 koe.jpg-v.bin
10.09.2011 10:48 1 291 koe.jpg.a
10.09.2011 10:48 8 000 koe.jpg.bin

What I'm doing wrong?

And if you're still searching for IFLI/AFLI viewer code, you can grab it from Executable Image Release 3.

...in case someone would like to help out, it would be nice with sources for IFLI+AFLI viewers:)

It would be more convenient if everybody just stopped using Windows ;)

I'll have a look at it... just a little work involved in rebuilding OCaml.

you might want to create a statically linked mingw32 binary to get rid of the clumsy cygwin dll hell =)

vicpack is a command-line tool for converting regular images (PNG/GIF/TIFF/JPG) to C64 format. It exports to the most common formats like multicolor, hires, MCI, FLI and others. It can also generate runnable programs using the ACME assembler.

25th July 2007: v0.10

* by default, vicpack now uses input image color indexes directly for color matching. colors are assumed to be in the standard c64 palette order.
* add option -pepto for closest color matching to the pepto palette.
* improved error messages - now prints coordinates of chars with too many colors.
* rename options -escos and -escos2 to -sprite for clarity
* rename option -s to -overlay
* -mci -p will now always mask leftmost pixel column using sprites

22nd July 2007: v0.09

* Asslace viewer (-ass -p) works!
