phhuuuhhh... nicer than so much more this one... I will show you.... slag it all down no matter what talent went into it... my thoughts go out to Fredric and Roberic that just do not compose anything now, they were great and I enjoyed their music... here you have really a nice loop that are good and the comments are so lame... not wanting anyone to gain quality... shame on you in my humble opinion... Idot me stating that... but the two I mentioned in names were new composers and they just quit? why? ... imagine them talented people in some years time with some cool comments... ohhh... what a shame. they were underdogs, they needed better thoughts... when one are the best one can take the critics more easy... even then it is hard... like me in gfx, NOT IN MUSIC... but in gfx... it is ok that people think a 38 koala is too long even i struggeled so long for it... in coherent line in a big demo it is even ok but hurts but imagine being new on the scene ad trying out things and it is so bad feedback... must have been almost hell for them.So I dedicate this song to the loss of them!

It loops nicely for a few minutes. Doesn't have to be more. There is a world outside of "scene quality" too. But not here, as we all know.

Anyway, in case we shouldn't hear a finished version one day, I'm happy to have heard the unfinished one. Twenty-seven seconds of beauty.

It is actually not bad and has potential, but it is obvious and Pal says himself that it is far from finished - so the potential is rather wasted. Unless we will hear a finished version one day.

I get a 403 Forbidden access to the website. Only the 3l337 have access to it?

Peacemaker: Postmodern are we? ;) Well. I agree with this statement: Telling somebody today that the music he likes is bad usually results in two typical replies: 1. "There's no accounting for taste.", 2."You can't compare apples with pears."

I take both arguments for wrong. Taste needs education and I can compare apples with pears, because there are good apples as well as good pears.

The musicology is able to value the quality of the composition and the musician very exactly with objective methods. That Beethoven's Egmont or Paul Desmond's Take 5 as compositions are artistically more valuable than an arbitrary todays pop song is a fact, scientifically well supported and does not require any further discussion.

When somebody is talking about the quality of music he often means actually his personal preference, not the music's objective quality. The colloquial language does not distinguish between both and often the partner in discussion has no clue about the criteria e.g. for good singing, but claims that for example Pritney Bears (oops) would be a good singer. In fact he means he likes her (her stage shows, her dancing, her outfit, her music).

By the way, at the moment I am listening to a song which I like very much although I know it is bad.

That said, this small tune by PAL has its moments and its qualities. It could, and should, have been worked on some more though. It's too short to begin with. PAL is one of the greatest skilled graphicians we have - he actually know what it takes to create perfection.

This tune is reminding of one from Synth Sample.

Very nice melody and sounds. Short but can't say it's not a music! Great start Pal.
I know this tune is not made on real C64, but I want to say that composing on real C64 is the only way to be in touch with real C64, and feel the keys under the fingers nowadays. Coding don't let you feel it coz of cross-programming... I envy you musicians :-(

Hedning: Define "Quality" please, especially for Music, that would be interesting to know.

Oh, and I really understand the need for comments and feedback, but that's where friends come in. I am sure the awesome musicians in Offence can give great feedback.

You really don't need to release everything you create, especially not when experimenting and training. You will inevitability get grumpy comments if you do. I would prefer that you use the same quality standards as with your gfx. That said: keep on trying to make music, but come back after a year or so, when you developed some skill. Quality takes time.

Even its short, i like the melody... Better than 80% of the melodies released nowadays, while focusing on "technic" to hide the lack of talent at composing =)

Yes, nice melody fragment here. Too short imho for calling it a "song", but nice.

hey, you asked "you acted when Fredric also posted tunes, why?" and I replied, now what the heck do you want, to tell you you're a good musician? I won't.

And come on... "then expect to be praised for that." ... that is your words and not mine at all... Me speaking to my fans are not about speaking to non-fans in my music, or what you call "music"... I have only one fan and I know who it is so far let me adress that without you putting anything more to that.... I will stop posting music... As I really stopped beeing on csdb at all... I will leave now... I will send out the pixmas compo prices and that is it... for now... I know I will be on here again because I love it but really negativety like yours are killing the fun of it... hey JSL the nose is weird... and it is one week after last release so people are just so insane spoined and acting like thet in public... nasty nasty and really lame attitude... hey your not great starting out, kill it you idiot... what the fuck, it is totally anti-scene man.... it is george in seinfelt doing the opposite... well he were a hit in that... but man that is insanely idiotic...

Thanx for posting that here in this one and not in the third release of mine... Is that your feedback on my first real tune melody and mood vice? I think you are acting foolish! Why should one be releasing only great stuff in your ears when there are thousand pair of ears out there? And if only one pair of ears do think it is OK or nice or different or strange or something? That is killing everything outside the mainframe I think!

I act like that when ppl post crap tunes pretending to be musicians and not realizing that making music isn't a skill they have, and what I especially dislike is that ppl put out every "experiment" after stomping hands on the keyboard and then expect to be praised for that.

This is my absolutely first real sid tune where I am not just testing out stuff but actually making a melody and trying to make it be a song… It is for Ian because he has no believe in newcomers and I am a bit sad about that… Magnar I made this song for you because you were loving my melodielost tune and giving me feedback… thanx my old friend! Ian, please this is how you acted when Fredric also posted tunes, why? Please have some faith… and I for one do not think it is silly to release fun stuff because it is what the scene is all about. Here is my first real sid tune trying to emulate feelings of the past and be good at it!
