No more update for old 1541U's? I didn't know that, I have a 1541U2 and it just works fine.

@hedning: thank you for giving it a testride!

There is nothing wrong with the d64, and it works fine on real hw.

I did however try this one with the original Ultimate (even with the updated FW Version 2.6d.O918.4 Based on Gideon’s SVN revision 131), the U2 and the U2+.

Conclusion: Forget the original Ultimate for now, as it has too old FW and is not 100% compatible with the 1541... To use the U2, you will need fw 3.10a (11C). Works fine. U2+ with 3.10a, no problems.

Thanks for your reply Vincenzo! :D

Unfortunately my two trusty 1541U devices are like the C64: No more updates available (required?)... ;-D

I will transfer this wonderful release to a real disk to present it at our next Commodore meeting using a real 1541 drive. Which is quite classy anyhow. ;) Still I do hope this will be a rare exception... ;)

@Martinland there's a known 1541 emulation issue with older 1541u firmware so it must be the problem. We didn't experience the same issue on newer 1541u's or Ultimate board too. Have you tried to update it?

By the looks of it an absolutely amazing music disk!

Oh, I so wish I could just enjoy this on my C64 - w/o writing it out onto a floppy disk, that is:

Alas this is the *only* one of all releases past and present I ever tried (!) that neither works on my 1541U Batch1 nor on the 1541U w/ Ethernet and more RAM; both devices I've been enjoying since about 12 years and this release doesn't even start loading in any case on an old C64 breadbox and a new C64c as well. oO

This is rather disconcerting because it's a first around here.

(I know about those inaccuracies of the old 1541U devices, yet everything still worked ... so far)

Anybody have any idea why this release is so different than all the others I ever ran? (Would have to dig - can't believe this is the only production using a newer Sparkle I ever gave a try)

Any hints *very* much appreciated!

Have a nice 8-bit day/night! o/

NecroPolo and Vincenzo talk about the GTC2021 in this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vTW8akeQsOk
Expect a 2 hours long, detailed but not too detailed friendly chat about Commodore64, music editors and more.

This was a great project to be involved in and an honour to be asked to do the graphics for Vincenzos music disk. As usual when working with Trap its a bit like two crazy guys in a candy store that just have to try every candy there is and see how it taste. So this kept evolving quite a bit. Something that was intended as a small project grew to something a bit bigger. :)
-"Oh, what happens if we add this idea? Or this? And that? Cool!"

Superb music packaged in a completely filled music disk.
Loved every day we worked on this.

Good looking screen, great interface, nice tunes and the animations, for example when the cassette is changed, or when the fingers move on the steering-wheel, also look cool! Overall a great music-disk.
