Great! While you do the detailed analysis of the SID, I try to trace this guy. I found another reference to "Mike" in Rastermatsch.

@ $10c0 " intro (c) written by michael w. in 1989 for lions! "
I don't know who this Michael W. is but for sure doesn't seem Michael Detert. Michael Winterberg is my closest guess, but I feel it's not him.
It's possible that this guy self attributed the credits for the music.
Is the address in the scroller "PLK 039887 d - 5000 Koeln 21" even compatible with him? Who knows.
EDIT: Hey, wait, the tune used it's NOT /MUSICIANS/D/Detert_Thomas/Lion_Sleeps.sid but rather a similar or edited one =) Will check it later if it's the case of considering it a new one. Removed Thomas Detert from credits for now.

Just found the release of this intro with some credits in the scroll...

"Here I am , Mike of The Lions and again everything at this intro is done by myself : all graphics, charsets, codings, the tune "the lions sleeps tonight" and everything done by myself."

Makes me wonder if this song is wrongly credited (to his brother)? Assuming that Mike in fact is Michael Detert?
