A demo with a story, one that makes me a bit sad at that, especially that industrializing part which was excellent. Let's hope mankind comes to its senses before they completely f**k up the planet. Unfortunately greed is strong.
Anyways great demo guys.

@Jak T Rip:
Thanks a lot. Almost 5 months and to be honest, I would have liked to spend some more time on them. In the end most of them got finished in a rush. The summer was very hot over here and so I have wasted some weeks and those weeks were missing in the end. :(

forget = forgotten...
what was again the reason why edit is disabled? :)

Thanks Jak T Rip and all the others for the many nice comments.
We'll sure greet DMAgic&Protovision in our next releases, as well as the many forget ones (like the deserved compo winners Extend! (hey there, Barfly!))
btw, you are right about the subject: we didn't focus on zoo theme but perhaps more on wild animals in general. but the initial idea of the greetings part was to build cages around the free animals, then we made something more dramatic. but not as dramatic as the new pic I just uploaded: France13112015
:(

Finally I could get the time for a visit in the zoo.
This is intelligent, funny, creative and themed - all of the things I love in demos. The evolution part from is smashing for sure, and the progressive greetings part rocks bigtime. Good to see e.g. dacapo greeted as well, although I must insist in DMAgic&Protovision greetings next time I go watching animals ;-) Also the zebra part is really neat, although the text in front didn't fit in my opinion. It raised the expectation that now I will see something that happens in the zoo, instead I saw wildlife?
The fact alone that we have a full blown demo with sounds from my very favourite Agemixer makes me go yeah! And the gate opener scene doesn't only look good, it SOUNDS good - very much like a hinge sounds. But you have some more unexpected SID magicians as well. Impressive Fungi for a start!
Also quite a number of nice gfx and design in general. Must have took you ages, dmd.

Great team effort.

I love it, especially the mix of parts that made me LOL (like the Steve Irwin - R.I.P. - part) and the more serious/philosphical ones. For sure, some transitions could have even been polished/unglitched some more, but who cares. Brill stuff!

hey Psylicium. well, it wasn't really ready in time... I kept on distracting Vent so he forgot about the deadline, while Doc was busy linking that beast! :)
you should have seen our faces when at the very end we discovered we were using exactly 664 blocks!
And the demo would have been much much less cool without your fab sid contribution, so thank you for that! :)

@Jammer: The gate fx is not sample based, but Agemixer-based! ;) I didn't believe my ears, when I first heard it!

Greetings part was really striking, innovative and full of effort. Gate opening sound is probably the best C64 sound effect (unless it's sample based :P).

@joe - I'll pass your comment to my kids who helped me a lot pixeling those pics... :)
The idea was: from extremely colorful to grey and greyer...
