oooh, yes. sure. graham initially did the pal emulation for vice, and since then i have done a couple of improvements. check here | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 18 August 2011
Groepaz: No, not like that, I meant the effect of a CRT/tv-emulation with all those jerky vertical lines and the moiré effect.
Didn't you start those implementations? Someone did (for Vice), I'm sure...
Would be great to be reminded sometime, although I usually only work through my images to look good in the emulator,
without the crt-emulation these days. | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 18 August 2011
@joe: funny that YOU ask really :o) there is nothing nasty about this, and nothing new either (tons of demos used this before, i used it in 1996 and it was an old idea even then :)). it is simple checkerboard mixing of two colors in hires mode, pretty much exactly the same technique as used by you in a bunch of multicolor pictures =)
break into monitor, then:
> bank ram
> f c000 e000 f0
> x
and you will see.

Colorful and such nice colors they are.
Could anyone show a screendump from a real setup?
I'd love to see how the aberration works...
Groepez: Weren't you into those nasty implementations some time ago? Maybe you could re-enlighten us poor graphic artists :D | User Comment Submitted by Style on 18 August 2011 User Comment Submitted by Ragnarok on 16 August 2011

A cool little prod. I like it. Nice Sound from Wolf. Keep on coding and see u at the next party! | User Comment Submitted by Karoshier on 14 August 2011
This was initially meant as a 4k. The ideas we came up with later, eventually made it grow into its current size (which is less than 6k, anyway). A real TV is highly recommended; the smaller, the better. | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 14 August 2011
