Trivia :
Stratford and Mace (then called The Ultra System and Snowman) were classmates when they started The Exocet Crew (TEC). Their maths teacher was a C64 hobbyist too, and his son (Strike) was in a group called Electronic Counter Measure (ECM). ECM was in contact with various people in the scene.
TEC wanted to grow and explore the scene, but were unable to make any connection other than ECM.
Then, as ECM was slowly falling apart, because some members left for other groups (like Squadron), Strike suggested to form a new group.
On October 19, 1988 the group View was formed out of Strike and Seen from ECM and Snowman (who changed his name to Mace) and The Ultra System (who changed his name to ...).
Later, View (read trivia there) was turned into Secure.
The name 'Secure' was made up during a private copy party, when the group was formed. We picked all letters that were easy to pixel and then tried to make a name with those.
When Mace flunked 4th grade, Trinity became a classmate. He joined Secure.
Stratford (=Icon=Phantom), Trinity and Mace were the three core members of Secure.
Neon was a close friend in real life, but he only did some graphics and swapping for a while.
Moreal was the first member of Secure that wasn't a close friend. He didn't do much more than an occasional disc cover and very little swapping. None of the original members met Moreal in real life. Moreal was from Chinese descent and quite good at graffity art.
Greg, a Belgian, was the first and only foreign member. He did an occasional crack and swapped a lot. It's hard to remember how he became a member and for how long.
Despite our own declaration of death in one of our 1993 demos, we only dissolved on the 19th of April, 2020 when the two remaining active members (Mace and Stratford) joined Xenon.
