Good old CCS64 can rotate the screen by the way, but would indeed be cool, if also some other C64 emulators could do that. When i count the pixels of this game, in a version with turned-around graphics, everything would still be possible as it is now without bigger changes. Only all the bars (score, lives, points etc) then would have to be placed on the right side of the screen. But it would be enough free space there, because the game wouldn't fill the full width of the screen then. As much, as i like some upright Arcade cabinets, at home i prefer, not having to turn the Monitor or TV around, to be true. :) | User Comment Submitted by bisboch on 5 February 2021
Amazing. Would love to see a new batch of similar vertical conversions! Cannot try it right now, but can't wait! A question - in my experience, most TATE arcade games opt for a CW rotation, rather than a CCW one. Also the few TATE games I can recall for 64 (Girls wanna have fun and a 1983 Pac Man clone) go for a clockwise rotation. Is there an option here to choose the rotation? (I guess not, but as I have a CRT already rotated CW and I'm lazy...) | User Comment Submitted by fandenvoldsk on 28 January 2021
Great to see a TATE shoot'em up on the C64! | User Comment Submitted by Frantic on 28 January 2021
I guess most of you know, but if not: On Sega Saturn (for example) there are a bunch of shoot'em ups that have a 90 degree tilted mode to be used with your oldschool monitor/TV tilted 90 degrees. It is quite nice. | User Comment Submitted by Neo-Rio on 28 January 2021
Memories of "side pacman" :) | User Comment Submitted by KAL_123 on 25 January 2021
Good idea, what "iAN CooG" wrote. For all C64 emulators this could make sense, especially if more such turned-screen games should come out in the future. I also thought about something like that, particularly yesterday, when i played some "Atari Lynx" games with the "Handy" emulator, which already allows turning the screen. On the Lynx you have alot games with turned screen, therefore "Handy" can do this since years. Could also be cool for C64 emulators in the future. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 25 January 2021
funny idea, how to rotate 90 degrees Vice to fully enjoy this? =)
The port of the game seems very good |
