thanks for that G-Fellow. I hope to bring more tunes you might also like in the future.

That is true Scarzix, there are some different SID-Chips that all sound different and with different loudness, because you can make your sid loud or more silent with this little bolt in the motherboard...and many 6581 or 8580 sound different.

I was searching once the best SID emulation filter in the sidplay2/w for Lightforce.sid and this follin one I mentioned here was closest to it. In the old sidplay2/w Lightforce.sid was not listenable for me, because it was very bad emulated. But most other tunes worked without any problems...I don't know why.

We in FTS 2009 did love your Galactix V2.0 even we did not know that is from you, in the file is written "Player by JCH and Music by JCH", I think we thought that this tune is from JCH...but now it is even cooler to know its from you.

Cool, thanks for sharing your settings. But I think my old 6581 SID was another release because my Galactix and Combat Zone title music doesnt sound right on that setting as I recall it. Will have to check up upon that. I guess its about what you had in your own machine back then? I mean, Lightforce and Cybernoid probarbly sounded different on our computers if we have different SID editions, right?

About your tune here Scarzix...it is great, it has a good pace, very good sounds and good melodys...

I recommend in Vice 2.4 "Settings -> SID Settings -> SID Model -> 8580 R5 3691(ReSID-fp) and at SID filters a mark, for digi music the one with +digi boost(ReSID-fp)
and for SID 6581 are 6581 R3 4885 (ReSID-fp)

My sound settings in Vice 2.4:
Ofcourse you could make the Sound Buffer Size to 350 msec

As Sidplayer, I recommend: Sidplay/w V2.6 and this Settings->Filter Distortion->

With Sidplay2/w 2.6 from Inge, for me is the tune Lightforce.sid from Rob Hubbard very near to the original sound with Trurl6581R3_4885 ~Follin and other 6581 tunes, too.
Same for the Vice 6581 R3 4885 (ReSID-fp).

Sure, in VICE:

Settings->SID settings:
SID model: 8580R5 1489 + digi boost (ReSID-fp) - not really needed with the digi boost, but that will let you hear samples too I believe (so good as default setting).

Also in Settings->Sound Settings:
Buffersize ("enough to make it play seemlees) I use 350 msec
Sound Fragment Size: Large (?)
Synchronization Method: Exact (rather important or VICE will distort tunes when a demo takes a lot of cycles..)

Thats how I've understood it so far.

I always try to compose my tunes so they will loop nicely, incase someone would want them in a production of some kind. But when I read the music compo rules that they preferede an easy way to hear when it was done, I decided to do the other version, actually just removing the loop.

So this version is more "intro" minded.

Details: its allocated for $e000 and uses zeropage 02/03, but I will be happy to compile it for other registers/addresses if you want to use it. Just contact me.

May the Cheese be with you.
