In the BCC#8 intro the rotating dots do not represent default ROM characters making the movement smoother.
This one only uses characters that exist in the ROM charset. |

CharROM will never be out of fashion, it's good, though you could do a lot more with that effect without much more effort.

Of course someone has done similar stuff decades earlier and probably better. |
