I seem to have completely missed out on this one until Burglar played a little sidmix he had done last night where this one was included. Very nice! | User Comment Submitted by psych on 10 December 2007 User Comment Submitted by warp8 on 1 April 2005
i agree, the tune is c64-pop-muzik at a certain level.
technically it was really nothing so new. plain $d418-trashing. big thanx to Krill/Plush for giving me 7cycles/write at the party, so it was possible to mix the digi-channels at 11khz instead of only 9. It's also crap, that the sid-filter is still very limited when playing samples, so Fanta had to cut a lot of fx from the original tune.
but anyway, it had enough emotion inside, to be that popular.
and it prooooves, that Love still hits Technology :-/
see that nice amiga500 track by eph/spb on a 1kB-Bootblock.
so for me it was the revenge to a fuckedup windoze-mbr at that party, but thats another story...
morph: handshakez to sweden!
regards,

I agree, nice tune. Great to see Warp 8 still is coding too. :) | User Comment Submitted by Edhellon on 31 March 2005
I love your C64 Fanta aswell, if it helps you to produce such fabulous tunes! :-) Keep up the good work, really amazing song! One seldom hears digisamples placed in such a perfect harmony to the sid-voices we all love. :) | User Comment Submitted by Fanta on 30 March 2005
ok sorry guys. i probably was wrong about the realtime thingy... | User Comment Submitted by MB 7447 on 30 March 2005
yeah, 2 channels digi realtime is nothing new, I did a rockmonitor clone using it in 1987 ;) | User Comment Submitted by deizi on 30 March 2005 User Comment Submitted by tlr on 30 March 2005
Nice tune! Have to agree with earlier comments about 2 channel samples already being done though. Check Netherworld by Yip (1988) it supposedly has 4 voices of samples + sid (http://www.c64hq.com/?type=3&id=146) | User Comment Submitted by Soren on 30 March 2005
Alex: I think other people have already done 2 channel samples +sid.. As far as I know, Maniacs of Noise use that in Turbo Outrun, or atleast they must have had several volume settings for samples.
I think it's 2 channels though. | User Comment Submitted by HCL on 30 March 2005
@Fanta: "should be the first tune on 64 with 2 (!) digi voices that are realtime calculated to one.." <- think you should check through the pile of Censor Design demos before you claim that. Great tune anyways.. | User Comment Submitted by RRR on 30 March 2005
Fanta, Fanta, weil's Spaß macht und schmeckt! Great tune and I am looking forward to what you have announced here. Keep up the great work. | User Comment Submitted by Slator on 30 March 2005
great technique, wished I could have seen the look in the faces of those partyfellas :-D thumbs up alex, even while you hate me ;-D waiting for the final version... "I love mine, too" | User Comment Submitted by Ninja on 30 March 2005
As promised at the party, here is my 10. For a great tune and lots of positive feelings it gave me! | User Comment Submitted by Fanta on 30 March 2005
thanks for the nice words so far. please more! :) did nobody noticed the speciality about the digi routine? should be the first tune on 64 with 2 (!) digi voices that are realtime calculated to one + 3 sid voices. so virtually 5 voices at the same time are in usage! thank you warp 8! the samples are not at it´s best quality, the composition is not either and the routine is by far not finished. so to be honest this is only a teaser of whats still to come. for now, we are rather happy we could finish this shit in about 3 days of composing, sampling, programming and i promise to blow away everything on next breakpoint or maybe earlier somewhere. :D and yes, it was a pleasure to kick that amiga tune to the second place with quite some distance. ;) see you... | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 30 March 2005
Hat off, Alex. You kicked some major ass ;-)That delicate slide around the middle of the tune was fabulous. Playful and witty. The most amusing C64 song I have heard this year. | User Comment Submitted by Soren on 30 March 2005
Great tune! I was amazed of the vocoder samples. Didn't know it was possible to do them in such a good quality. You make me want to work with samples on c64 :-) | User Comment Submitted by LordNikon on 29 March 2005
congrats ... a very nice one ! | User Comment Submitted by SIDWAVE on 29 March 2005
