To use the disassembler, unzip dasmx140.zip and put DASMx64 into the same directory. DASMx64 takes exactly one argument, which should be a CBM program file with a two-byte start address. If the file contains a SYS command, the address is extracted and specified as entry point. DASMx then uses this entry point to determine which parts of the program are related to code and which parts are data.

DASMx64 is a Windows command line frontend to the DASMx disassembler for disassembling Commodore PRG files. DASMx64 analyses a PRG file, looks for a SYS stub, and feeds DASMx a file without the first two address bytes. Start address and code entry point are passed as parameters. If no SYS command was found, the start address is given as code entry point. DASMx is called twice to produce an assembler file and a detailed list file, including cycle times beside each opcode.

This release also includes DASMx version 1.40. DASMx is a freeware Windows commandline disassembler for a range of common microprocessors. It supports code emulation and automatic label generation DASM is copyrighted software by Pete Clare. Version 1.40 is allowed to be freely distributed.

I found DASMx V1‌.40 on Pete Clare's webpage, which is now offline. The archived version of the webpage can be found at https://web.archive.org/web/20180815214602/http://myweb.tiscali..
