amazing picture and brilliant idea! | User Comment Submitted by Akira on 1 May 2013
Such fantastic work, both artistically and technically. I never have enough of your work, Joe!! | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 1 May 2013
Cruzer: No the spritecolor doesn't change. The rasters look like this: lt.red, black, green, black, green etc. and on top there is purple sprites (Purple empty purple empty purple etc.). dependant on where i have the empty pixels or the purple one gets the feeling of more colors because the background bleeds through. The same goes for the upper border. I'd guess one could use multicolored-sprites + rasterbars in an intelligent way also. Just haven't tried it yet. | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 30 April 2013
thanks, I had to zoom way in, in an editor and go through individual lines to see there's really only 2 color per line, it's very well hidden, | User Comment Submitted by Cruzer on 30 April 2013
@Oswald: Only two colors / rasterline. Black/purple or light red/purple or green/purple. So changing background + sprite color every line along with some ingenious pixelwork creates the illusion. | User Comment Submitted by Joodas on 30 April 2013 User Comment Submitted by v3to on 30 April 2013
oswald: expanded hires sprites | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 30 April 2013
out of this world indeed, straight from c64 gfx heaven. how was the lower border area done, I dont get it how the pixels look 2x1 instead of 4x1 !? :) | User Comment Submitted by v3to on 30 April 2013
one of the most interesting concepts i have seen lately (not just for c64).
apart from that have to say that it is a must to watch the picture on a crt. tbh i was a bit mixed with lighting in some areas and the color combinations for the lower border sprites, which make them look flat in a way like pal said. on a crt these areas look more three dimensional thanks to the scanline dithering. the contrast between the solid chest and the graphical elements below is also more clear on crt. | User Comment Submitted by chatGPZ on 30 April 2013
"he manages to make something new and fresh every single time without repeating himself - and STILL having his own unique unmistakable style!"
repeating himself is what creates his own unique style afterall =P
not saying its a bad thing - it rocks :) | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 30 April 2013
Pal: No that's perfectly in order. I agree completely myself. | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 29 April 2013
it is so cool to see your art joe... it is just joe! I do think you created far more super images in the past actually but this is ofcourse beyond kaviar too...
I just would love the main in front character to hold more sexy hips and figure also... she looks kinda flat down there? as if the ones at her side holds sexy arse and cameltoes from heaven, the one in front is just plain unsexy and looks like she is just a plank that is so thin in y that it make me almost LOL of anatomy! It is a great image but that is so unsexy figure... it must be said as no one commented on that! You are a great master of c64 art and you can take that, because when i say so you will also see that and just agree, that is my thought on that! I just can not see why it is that way as the ones on the side holds super shapes? why did you make the front main attraction that way? I guess you just got pixelblinded after all your hard work because it is hard work this, harder than most! Whan i look at the hands and compare to the legs it is getting even more strange for me, it is almost anorectic in a way, i just had to look it a lot of times to see this and now it is that for me... the things that make almost her shoulder neck look so it is wings i do not understand also... what is that? I want to give you 10, but can not because of this, 8 from me!
Joe - you are the best - but you can do the things within your tech better and then it will be perfect! Can i say this without beeing the most hated on here... i am right? am i not? | User Comment Submitted by Yogibear on 29 April 2013 User Comment Submitted by encore on 28 April 2013
Congratz again on a very nice release (which looks just fine on my C64 to be honest). Perhaps you should do a collection of these women-themed pictures at some point? | User Comment Submitted by Cruzer on 28 April 2013
Out-of-this-world awesomeness! | User Comment Submitted by NecroPolo on 28 April 2013
:O
Instantly recognisable, improbable. When it comes to consider C64 pixels as art, with this kind of fresh attitude you turn all the competiton to be failed attempts. Hats off, man! | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 28 April 2013 User Comment Submitted by Tristan on 28 April 2013
Jaw dropping pixels from Joe as usual. Thank you :) | User Comment Submitted by Motion on 28 April 2013
Fantastic! Big, Huge, Enourmous man hugs to both Joe & Stian! ;) | User Comment Submitted by Flex on 28 April 2013 User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 28 April 2013
This is just ossum... I dunno how James does it, but he manages to make something new and fresh every single time without repeating himself - and STILL having his own unique unmistakable style! That is the sign of the true artist: explore, evolve, improve, experiment - and yet stay true in style to your very essence! | User Comment Submitted by N3XU5 on 28 April 2013
excellent production Joe ... simply stunning =) | User Comment Submitted by Dr.j on 27 April 2013
What bob said. straight 10! one of the top-5 pictures i have seen this year. awesome work! should be in a demo | User Comment Submitted by Bob on 27 April 2013
that is beyond art! it is poetry! | User Comment Submitted by celticdesign on 27 April 2013 User Comment Submitted by TomoAlien on 27 April 2013
I can't believe it's not FLI.
I can't believe it's C64.
What I can believe is that it's a masterpiece. Even if it wasn't a C64 pic, it would be still fantastic. Being a borderless C64 pic just makes it rule harder. | User Comment Submitted by Sixx on 27 April 2013
You never stop to amaze me, Joe. Every new picture feels like your best one. Simple amazing. You're GOD! | User Comment Submitted by Mirage on 27 April 2013
Love everything you produce, Joe. This one as well. | User Comment Submitted by Dr.Science on 27 April 2013 User Comment Submitted by muh on 27 April 2013
