I love how the tension went to...

"this movement is our place to escape from real life."

But no, this was not the intention. People hide and try to find bate in the past to do things right now.

And they grab even stories, like my former girlfriends’ photos which was in cooperation with me, ok, I'm fine with that. The other was documented earlier.
The most important story of this and lesson is that, yes, you tell where you got your inspiration from if you were so stupid to copy it straight off.
And when people feel they are being robbed since they can't do nothing,
they do stupid releases like this! And thinking as I was in my chair, I did tell them once,
where the images came from, so their saying it was robbed and they were lacking the discussion that it was robbed,

in my chair, I was thinking, how could they have been thinking,

I was robbing Steve Reich, Philip Glass and others from the chair of someone saying it was robbed and used.
And in my chair, I was thinking of how music was used and robbed from any disco in any other earlier decades as it was borrowed or used,
as I was sitting in the chair.

And so I was sitting in my chair thinking again who these could be who could be using of Steve Reich, John Cage and
my former girlfriend without to ask, but just to make a demo about me and to make use of my artwork.
And so, as I was sitting in my chair, they stole my artwork and made a demo about making fun of me,
without knowing they made fun of themselves in stealing, without asking, without knowing art or music like John Cage, Steve Reich
or even of my former girlfriends’ photographs and education!

Sander part is even more stupid. True.

We are way over 40. Some over 50. And still some people pretend that it's okay to act like when we were 20. Pretending that it's okay to ve proud of winning accolades in mainstream art event with derivative/uncredited or straightforward copyright infringing works. It's not. Only reason there is not a mainstream scandal around it, is because C64 scene is not newsworthy enough. And it will never be. We are not able to grow out of our bubble. We are creators and with occasional exceptions, the sole audience of our art. We accept our flaws, we enjoy what we do, this movement is our place to escape from real life. Those who keep making it part of their "real life" legacy sooner or later distance themselves (unconsciously or otherwise) from it.

We produce extraordinary complicated and polished art productions, just for sheer feeling of joy and appreciation of our fellow sceners. If we started to be more serious about it, part of us would just don't feel like it. This is inclusive (yes I think so) environment. Parallel reality (mostly) not clashing with the main timeline.

Oswald: Don't know what you mean by "allowed". I'm not sure what is "forbidden" now. Although after the discussions the "no wire jobs" rule may be extended to "original work only" at some parties (like it happenend with SID music long ago). But I don't see this release handling that topic.

What I see is that this release seems to be attacking Joe for expressing his opinions against "non original" works. Trying to silence this opinion with the sole reason that Joe himself did some "non original" work in the past.

But imho this is stupid modern Twitter argumentation: You can not have an opinion against X when some time in the past you also did X (in Twitter world even: you once shaked hands with someone who did X).

I don't get this kind of thinking. And I fail to see how this release refers to anything other than that (ignoring the Sander part for now).

spiderj, if past joe was allowed to do it, and it was accepted by everyone, then we can allow some other average joe to do it aswell. on what basis do we demand that only he could have done it ? but on what basis does anyone tells anyone else what to do anyway ? to me all this witchhunt looks like the spanish inquisition sketch from monthy python.

@CreaMD: full ACK.
@release: At least it follows the Golden Rule "Go make a demo about it!" :-)

I don't really get what this is about or should "proof"? What is the message? That one can't evolve because it makes him a hypocrite?

I'm also kind of confused by Joe's language lately (i.e. things like "disgusting"), but it's quite clear that in a world where time is linear you can't disregard "todays Joe's" arguments because of "past Joe's" actions ... *shrug*

Well, it's a bit offtopic bere, probably, but IMO Wile Coyote us guilty. :) Guilty of a lot of converted graphics of questionable value over past years ;). WEC did few cool things which made him recognisable for me, as someone with his own views and ideas, and now when I look at the list of latest releases, most of it seems like low quality/low effort stuff. I would like to see more stuff worth WEC signature.

@Joe Correct, i did enter the Wired AI Ninja Compo 2023 with a total of 4 entries.
The compo was nothing more than a bit of fun.
I entered into the spirit of the compo.

It's quite funny you, if any, showed up here, to be close to the fire. I bet you love this minute?

Who's the coward? Not me. I write what I think about this retard scene and sceners, like yourself,
who just fell back into converting stuff from A.I.
On the other hand, thinking back to when I actually swapped with you, Shaun, back in the 90:ies you had already done that, hadn't you?
From those fantastic images you actually did, you just turned yourself down the alley and now sit ontop and loves drama from your pit.

I fully expected Joe not to comment.
Then i figured if he did comment, it might amount to something like: Not neat.

ArtRecollection pushed Joe to type 10 words! ..one of which amounted to profanity.

Q. Who is the 'coward!' ?

This is what the scene should be about, and while I have my utmost respect towards Sander / Joe (but even Electric I must mention despite our opinion clash) I laughed my ass off, just cant take this seriously. Everyone have copied simple fact of scene life, coders ? if I start a new fx I havent coded yet, my first round is to examine all previous best examples ;)

Wile Coyote: It does not work that way. It's one new account that created the entries for both fake-Joe and fake-Sander here, and added this release. I also suspect (know, rather) know who is behind this new (fake-)account now, after this release.

Let's emulate the precedent set by these hypocrites in the past. Let's establish the principle that anything goes as long as it's enjoyable, and disregard the words of those envious senile "artists", because... *talent*.
