Thanks for taking a look guys! That indeed makes everything work with this release. I appreciate you both taking the time to respond and explain how to get things working :)

It's a fault in the intro code, there's a
0BA9 A9 00 LDA #$00
0BAB 8D 0E DC STA $DC0E

that isn't reset on exiting the intro so the keyboard isn't read anymore.
When the selector appears, enter vicemon and
> dc0e 11
x
at that point select 1 or 2

There is also a (faulty) anti reset at $8000, to disable it just delete it
> 8004 0

The d64 can be patched to make the main file always work, just find 0e dc and change it to 0e 00, the code will execute a sta $000e that does nothing and the keyboard interrupts will work

there is a CBM80 cartridge start at 8000, so kill it first
> 8004 00 00 00
reset
sys 49152

something with the interrupts/keyboard scanner is not correctly reinitialized after the intro - it doesnt actually crash, just the cia interrupts that fill the keyboard buffer do not fire.

Thanks for the correction. Thankfully I'm not a programmer :P Weird thing is, a soft-reset in Vice or g fce2 generally send the emulator into a CPUJAM with this release. Can you take a closer look iAN?

This one was actually released buggy according to the note. After the intro it generally locks up on the options screen. Just soft-reset or g fffc and g c000 or SYS 49152 as stated in the note and it will work.
