Sex Death Art/WEC

Created 1997
SHE2 [Super Hires Editor 2.3/3Lux [1994]

Released July 1997 at Wired

IN 1994 the idea of pixeling using Hires 3 colours per character square was a real novelty. Flicking though a magazine I spotted an image of a character called Judge Death (leader of the Dark Judges) that could work well using the limitations of Super Hires Editor 2.3/3Lux. I’ve never really been into comics, 2000 AD, or Judge Dredd, although there was something about Judge Death that I liked. After the pixeling of Judge Death was complete, there was an obvious gap between his hands. I wanted to place something circular into the empty space. I’d just read a story in The National Enquirer, something about a woman jailed for being addicted to shoplifting. There was something about the look of her face that made me decide to incorporate it into the image. Besides which, I like pixeling faces. The title of the image was simply designed to capture the attention of anyone reading the dir.
