360° Arm/WEC

Created 1996 - 2004
SEUCK/Sensible Software [1987]

Released 14th April 2004

360° Arm presents my final game created with the Shoot'Em-Up Construction Kit. While playability maybe questionable, and level length short, 360 Arm incorporates everything learnt during the creation of my previous SEUCK games. Started in 1996, the plan was to have a side on perspective, play area that scrolled downwards, lead character that boasted an arm that could turn through 360°, and fire discs (of death). Tron might have had a subconscious influence here. On reacting the point during the game that see’s the appearance of the ‘Great White Fish‘, ideas ran dry, and character squares low. 360° Arm was abandoned.

Around 2004, with some time to kill, a ton of energy, ideas free flowing, 360° Arm was completed. At the time I was playing the excellent Shoot’Em-Up Parodius/Konami on the Sega Saturn, which might have inspired the use of the Sid tune Wardonia/JVD/Focus on the title screen. The final boss was based on porn star Belladonna. Thanks to Richard, for all additional work.
