Ooooh. Reminds me of an old game... might have been VIC-20 convert? Where a mothership sent down this beam... damn what was the name of that game?

Matt: I think it is pretty well known about the Mental Institute, because I wrote about it back in 2009 here on CSDb.. Even tough, with some weird comments, which I deleted afterwards because JSL wasn't JSL anymore..

Hey Johan.
To begin with I have a shitload of respect for you and your contribution to the scene.
Sometimes though, I reckon you are too focused what certain people think about you and not yourartwork in particular.

But all that being said, you are truely an addition to the c64 scene. keep it up mate!

I am a 2D addict you can say. ;D - If you fancy anything in 3D I made recently three new works featuring Perspective, in Creepy Old House, a house with pathway, and graves, and cats.. Flappie The Ghost is a Ghost figure where I put buildings next to it in 3D and some lake, and last night I made Leon's Town, where Leon/Singular does live, buildings in 3D and several cats on the roadways.. Maybe these differ from what I do usually, and maybe I must do more Perspective.. I kept the Alien picture like it was.. Previously I wanted to do a three-screener for this compo, but decided for a NO, should have been three Alien portrait faces. Series called Alien World 1-3..

plus all the dimensional effects like the different shades of grey in the trees are killed by a clearly totally plain 2D alien in the foreground

No mouth! This would only spoil it by making it more human, and in the end you would give him a smile and he'd look like the typical JSL cute stuff, that'd be boring and unfitting.

It's rather that it looks as if you couldn't decide whether to dither it or not if you look at these light green beginning within the white. In this state it looks little like a sheet of paper with eyes.

Matt: Not an Unfinished picture, the picture was Complete back then in 2008, I wanted to upload it in 2009, but I got a psychosis and they locked me up and afterwards in June, I forgot about it.. Years later I found it back on my pc.. How you mean what happened with the Alien.. It is not an unfinished picture.. I know that I better should gave him a mouth.. I liked the tune from PRI, Yogibear didn't.. I thought last night about all my made Alien pictures, and choose this one.. Maybe not that good.. Still a 2nd entry for the Compo..

not bad but some having invested some more work might have been worth the effort. in this raw state rather premature release.

you mean an unfinished picture?
what happened to the alien and eh to the rest of the picture?
the music totally doesn't fit too mate.
you've done a lot better than this.
