Grumpyness was the reason I decided the c64 scene was for me.

About 'hedning'. I don't understand why that piss you off that much. Of course every one knows such graphics on an actual Monkey Island game is impossible. It is just an exercise for our imagination. We don't need to be technically accurate all the time for everything related to C64. CSDb releases like this one is a proof that art surpass technicality details.

dont know what you mean, maybe not having bigger than 64k continouous memory will cause problems?

@Oswald: I did some initial checks in ScummVM what MI requires. Using a REU or EF it might be possible, but as V3t0 I also have my strong doubts. It's gonna be hairy...

just strap a huge reu on the c64 and MI is doable even in bitmap mode.

Converts getting 9.3 average score? No.

It annoys me that people are pissing their pants over this. At least when they post it all over the net as a "what if Monkey Island was made for the C64". No: It would NOT look like this as it is a multicolour pic. Veto's version is more like it, as it's using charmode.

But as a repixelled converted picture this one is nice, of course. And it's not Oliver Orosz' fault that people refuse to wear diapers when needed.

Hmh, funny, looking at veto's version the menu/inventory bar seems to be "the law" :D

Looks very nice indeed.
Interesting... I was thinking about a Monkey Island what-if-scenario one month ago and did a charmode-based mockup (which still needs reduction and optimization for a fictive port. MI isn't really a good match for a C64).

Though I think, the command/inventory bar is oversized - which of course costs Y axis resolution for screen, it's pretty nice!

Looks very nice. Only thing is that I miss some detail in his face. Perhaps a sprite overlay could have been used there?
