Thanks everybody!
And special mention must go to Lft and his http://csdb.dk/release/?id=146660, which is the original of this version. He used the eor-with-neighbour-and-put-to-next-line approach when i just learned about it, thanks to Bitbreaker pointing me at http://www.pouet.net/prod.php?which=56079.
Luckily, i was able to squeeze out another two bytes on day 2 of Revision, after losing a bit of good sleep over this.
Pex: Aww, you're too kind, i've always admired your magic. :) | User Comment Submitted by Mr. SID on 31 March 2016
Cunning. And it even includes a NOP. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Bob on 31 March 2016
you could list the code in the message field and it would be shorter then this message by far ;) | User Comment Submitted by Pex Mahoney Tufvesson on 27 March 2016
When I grow up, I'd also like to be a magician like you, Gunnar! | User Comment Submitted by CreaMD on 26 March 2016
Skate, as far as I remember, Crossbow did similarly insane optimisation with smallest 1x1 scroll routine, back in times. | User Comment Submitted by Joe on 26 March 2016
On the edge! Probably the smallest Sierpinksi rout on the c64 ;D | User Comment Submitted by lft on 26 March 2016
Excellent work! Note especially how two bytes must work as a valid address to some ROM code to scroll the display, while also being harmless to execute during startup. | User Comment Submitted by Skate on 26 March 2016
You are seriously sick Gunnar! This is really mind blowing. I've never seen a prg with $82 startup. Is it a world first? At least it is to me... :) | User Comment Submitted by Barfly on 26 March 2016
This is getting serious.. Insane. | User Comment Submitted by Fresh on 26 March 2016
Mindfuxxing code!
You're the man!! |
