Nice 6-pixel wide font, 8-bit guy! I did something interesting back in the day, with a readable 4-pixel font, where some chars were using the full 4 pixels with no space. The reason this works, is those letters tend to be isolated. If not, you could do some fake kerning with the space in a left side or right side version.
