This version of CharPad seems to run (just fine) using Wine 4.0. | User Comment Submitted by Carrion on 4 April 2019
This tool is so kool. I use it hobbysticly for my small personal coding projects but it totally rocks. I think even som Atari guys use it for their game dev.
Also, I can't wait for the new tool announced below.
btw the .Net. I have some issues of running .Net tools under Linux. So maybe someone can help. What package should I install to make it work (for example Timanthes crashes with message no Wine Mono. I though I have it installed but apparently not. What has to be installed in order to have Wine Mono (.Net) ready to start this tool or Timanthes?
I have Linux Mint and I haven't used Linux platform for years. so sorry for maybe a lame question. | User Comment Submitted by Isildur on 4 April 2019
Absolutely stunning graphics from Saul Cross. | User Comment Submitted by Bamse on 4 April 2019 User Comment Submitted by Subchrist on 4 April 2019
I don't know much about WINE, all I can tell you is that the code has been translated from the somewhat buggy C++/.NET platform to C#/.NET.
The project is compiled for compatibility with .NET 3.5, which is probably considered quite an old version by now. | User Comment Submitted by bugjam on 3 April 2019 User Comment Submitted by Stainless Steel on 3 April 2019
@SIX : I ran the previous version with wine on ubuntu for over two years, but maybe the updates in this version changed something. | User Comment Submitted by Six on 3 April 2019
Any chance you could be persuaded to tweak this in a way that would allow it to work under WINE? This is the one application I really miss from Windows. | User Comment Submitted by Subchrist on 3 April 2019
I have been sitting on this for too long now, a lot of the recent work I have done on this has now been made into a separate project (soon to be released), and it's time to put this one out there.
With use, you should notice quite a few little improvements and fixes (see included file 'What's New.txt').
Enjoy.
PS. Big thanks to Saul Cross for providing some new example material, I just havn't had time for much of that myself. |
