For the record, in the new collection called "Houston" that DemongerX has gifted us, several of the disks seem to have been swapped around by Nut, Foxfire, Siggy, etc. There are also lots of little snippets of BBS logs and messages that feature the various members of this group (and also The Hood Works and Your Worst Nightmare).

So, it looks like this was a legit (if obviously not earth-shattering) group and these were real individuals.

And it did fuck up their name. See Strider. There they are called T8I, and later on I have found the tag T9I.

but then they could fill the screen completely with ripped interplay characters... doubtful if even 5 of 5 really existed or were all alter egos of The Nut

The 5 Immortals are looking for exactly 3 new members which would completely screw up their group name.
