I used the .msi package as suggested here: https://wiki.winehq.org/Mono (Run "wine msiexec /i path/to/wine-mono.msi")

That worked for me, I couldn't get Mono to run CharPad, nor did my debian have a wine-mono package.

Of course creating a portable version would be much preferred, but that would mean dumping .Net/Mono, I don't see that happening.

Thanks for the feedback, the program was never designed to run on Linux/Mac but of course it would be nice if it did.

If Glaze runs ok then I get the feeling there is just some minor problem causing CharPad to crash.

I'm not really a Linux user myself but I do have some fairly recent version of it (Mint) installed on an old laptop.

I am going to install Mono for Windows and see if it flags up any issues that Visual Studio does not.

Doesn't run using the suggested mono setup (apt-get install mono-runtime libmono-system-windows-forms4.0-cil) on Ubuntu 20.04LTS.
Error log here: charpad_error.txt

CharPadGlaze276.exe does work however.

Appears to run with Wine when you install wine-mono. So that's nice.
