Such an amazing collection of songs. Kjell was truly one a kind and such a great composer. Sad he left us so early. Rest in peace!

@Sixx: A good match, indeed.

Really sad ending of Kjell's story. Sorry to hear about that. An exceptional musical talent was lost that day.

I don't know anything about him as a person, and I don't pretend it. I was out of the scene between '94 and 2009 so I met his works just recently, but I know that there is a depth of awesomeness where you can't go with "just" being talented. Sometimes there is some dark fuel that is both blessing and curse. I've seen similar sad stories, seen collapsing shockingly talented people who were brilliant way beyond imagination. Another scene, another time.

If tune titles and music content are solidly linked, his struggle with himself and against the strong magnetic pull of darkness must have filled up his music with either odd, scary and beautiful emotions, imaginery places where no one walked before. Diving inside deeper and deeper, to the point of no return. Clearly, this collection is his own digital epitaph, the way as he wanted to be remembered. All possible and not possible sides of SID music is here, in one file, on the highest possible level that turns the light on but is out of reach (at least, for my limitations).

Rest In Peace fellow musician Kjell Nordbo, one of the greates minds who ever composed on SID.

Try running it (with run, not auto-start) a couple of times, it changes colour scheme.

what's up with the colors in the screenshot?
the background is black not blue, the box in the middle is grey instead of brown and the font is black with flashing blue instead of the yellow you see above. has my vic chip gone bonkers or are there different versions out?

@rambones: To quote Kjell; It takes about 4 cups of coffee before that tune restarts. :)

I knew that Kjell was a genius, but tune 15 beats all other SIDs combined!! around 20 minutes of music in that tune, and its the most complex I ever heard on SID!

What a legacy he left. The quality of the music is astounding.

Sid ripped and sent for hvsc update.
Actually is was already one big (50k) sid with 16 subtunes, separating them would be a hard work =)

These still need to be ripped for HVSC, preferably as on big file since that's how Kjell wanted it.

That intro picture was possibly the most morbid and shocking things I ever saw...

This demo has made me sad. His last C64 production showed his struggle in real life. What a loss to the scene. For some reason Kjell's disks were always errored (the post office?) and converting his productions could be a struggle at times. Glad to see this one make it to the internet and entertain us all in the unique way that only Kjell could entertain us in.

it seems like this one won't run without having a cartridge inserted.
