How cool is that? Jeff releases a bug fix for his legendary game. Seriously .. I'm stoked <3.

Got complaints about my post that it was unclear:

Let me first correct the typos: It should have been "The hiscore shows signs of the Laser release by Rough so that is reverted back to the original."

If you follow the first link you will find the reference to the vsf file, and that one has a highscore that looks like the one in the Laser version.

Revenge of the Mutant Camels +5H

The snapshot has Ox added to the highscore list on the first place, but the other spots are the ones from the Laser release.

it feels so much nicer and more fun with the fixed collision! love this game. the sfx when you die, and that gnarly upside down camel sprite, are burned into my brain forever. jeff said elsewhere that he'll probably tweak it a bit more (difficulty-wise, since the game is overall a bit easier now) some time..

Jeff Minter updated the old classic game. See here for reference:

So it is indeed a new release.

His version only works in VICE x64 (not x64sc) and that isn't even built by default from version 3.4 and onwards and is hence not part of the packages that can be downloaded. We felt it needed proper packaging and in the process we did a few other things:

* The hiscore showed signed of the Laser release by Rouch so that is reverted back to the original.
* It works with cart images
* It handles being run from other devices than 8.
* Cleaned out artefacts of old source code

* If you want levelskip - use the built in trainer. Press "o" for options and then just type ATS. Will show you if you managed.

It's sort of standard that you have a menu disabling hiscore saver if you select trainers. I have done that but in practice either of the trainers will ensure you can never die, so the hiscore will never be saved.

Enjoy!
