VG Data Maker is a set of utilities to remaster the VG Data Shack applications (21 Second Backup v2 and 4.1, Super Fast File Copier) in their original format with all the protections intact, since they're quite difficult to reproduce otherwise.

*Requires a parallel cable with 1541 drive. 21Second, Burst Nibbler, or generic 10-wire cable should work as long as the parallel port is visible at $1801 on the drive. 1571 not supported.

*If you have 2 (or more) drives on the parallel bus, turn off all except the one you're writing to.

*The "improved compatibility" option makes some changes to the programs before it writes them to disk which allows them to work with other parallel cables, JiffyDOS, extra drive RAM (Supercard+), and you don't have to write protect the resulting copy.

*For the most "authentic" reproduction, leave all the options at their defaults.

*If you're using these tools in an emulator, you must disable the key track check on the 21sec 2.0 modified as there is currently no disk image format that can represent the protection this one uses.

*The custom tracks it writes to disk are verified. There is no retry, but it will inform you at the end of the writing sequence if something failed.

*Restore key will exit the program and reset the machine.
