This is a re-crack, I'm afraid. If you look at the title screen, it reads "COPYRIGHT 1985 ACCOLADE" then some spaces and the letters "JCF". JCF being the handle of a cracker. Also, studying the disk image, you'll come across a bunch of sectors reading "* JCF *22/11/85", so I'll guess that would be the release date.

I'm talking about the release date of the crack of course (not the release of the game, which is somehow irrelevant for CSDb). What if the game was released in late 1985? Then January 1986 could be a very probable release date of the crack.
Edit: Changed back the release year to 1986. If the game was released in 1985 it's highly unlikely that the crack was released on the 5th of January of the same year.

I was confused myself: The intro says released in January 1985, but the directory layout says 1986. Would be interesting to know when exactly the game came out (anyone care to dig through some Zzap64! issues?).

The game is from 1985. not 1986, even in the intro it says 1985. will correct it
