The original work is a rouch pencil sketch. Pixeling was done in PhotoShop with a touchpad. As this is a custom mode with no editor support so all the colour clashing was checked first manually and then from a bug report from CopyFault.

We're trying to find out why the Quiss SHX method does not work on my handheld. The theory I came up with now is that it may be due to its VSP-safe SRAM memory, and Copyfault says this may cause the SHX opcode to always behave the same, no matter if it's issued on a badline or not (which is the whole basis for the trick). Jens' C64 Reloaded board also has SRAM for VSP safeness, so maybe someone with a reloaded c64 can try this (or Duce's owl or Copyfault's Borderpolizei) if it works on their machine?

Jak: Copyfault's QCH is effectively fullscreen hires with a 40x100 grid of 8x2 hires cells. the technical basis is half FLI with four chars in the FLIbug (1 Mcol sprite for background colors, 3 Hires sprites for foreground). It also offers rasterbars. He extended it for Electric so it can also do a left/right rastersplit in every second line.

A true work of art. Such a nicely misleading title... thanks for incluuding and naming the work stages. Some of the stages are very beautiful pictures in their own right. I am not sure, though, that I understand the gfx mode. Did I miss sth? Can anyone explain the mode to me, pleeeeaaasse?

In my opinion this would have deserved the first spot, and with a margin. No matter the platform or medium it is made on, this is brilliant art. The fact that it's on the C64 makes me admire this even more.

This one is really great and unique. Still very much Electric. I really appreciate you have the patience doing art this way. I don't think I ever could do it.
Superb motive and lighting! I was pretty sure you would win.

My favorite. So ugly yet so beautiful.

If this doesn't work on whatever you're using (=black screen), it is due to the Quiss SHX method for a stable IRQ. To circumvent this, hold down C= plus arrow left upon start!

Btw, note that we have rastersplits BUT only on every second line :)

People, thanks! This is quarter char hires (QCH) as Jazzcat mentioned. Thanks once again to Copyfault.

See the zip for workstages. This was a bumpy ride with lots of manual checking in the end. Tried to take 'the max' out of the colour mixing possibilities. It's of course very much overdone, but anyway… shows at least a bit what QCH can do.

Hmm, code by copyfault.. I have a,deja vue from Borderpolizei, maybe that Quiss illegal opcode stable IRQ method really isn't too compatible after all?

use x64sc.exe and not x64.exe, and btw VICE 3.6.1 is already 10 months old, complaining any production doesn't work in older VICE is useless, they get updated for a reason.

Yeah, that's how i like the girls on the beach. *lol* Nice skin and tight figure, with curves on the right places. :)
No, seriously. Pic looks really great, also the spatial perspective between the two people is very well done.
