What a huge effort, and gorgeous screens! Wish it was faster paced.

That's an interesting observation: Converting to dirart's limitations makes the image better. Agreed, at least when the conversion is done by a skilled artist like Worrior1 :)

Perfect PETSCII job but production got boring pretty quickly because of heavy art recycling and pacing issues.

It took years to make this demo. In 2018, I had Ripley's last report, an EDS sign and an EDS counter animation and sketches of the explosion. Fabs made four multicolor images for the demo back then. At least two of which he has published here on CSDb. One image from Fabs inspired me to make directory art. This demo was overtaken by other projects.

I am now publishing here my 16 PETSCII files with over 550 frames and 32 animations. I make PETSCII images one character at a time using Marq's PETSCII editor. The explosion animation contains 48 images. The door opening animation consists of 50 images. The press of a button is just an animation of two images. I think it works just fine. The eye completes the movement of the hand.

I did the demo timing for the first time with Adobe Premiere video editing software to make an MP4 video. Rösseli taught me the basic commands of the program. I wrote the timing in the attached Excel spreadsheet and again in the Slack channel. Jaws executed the timing meticulously. Finally, mA2E arranged great music for this little movie.

Attached also the work stages of making the directory art. I first drew the image in Marq's PETSCII editor, ignoring character constraints. After that, I redrew the image in the D64 directory, one character at a time, using the DirMaster program. In many cases, the more limited allowed character set in the directory makes the image better.
