As Tobias wrote in his comment, he wanted an extra colour for antialiasing. Since he's not a coder, NUFLI was a convenient option for this, given that it's an established format with existing tools.
Personally, I think making a version of the Paramount logo is a great idea, and it looks nice with the added antialiasing. The fact that it's NUFLI doesn't bother me at all.
