HF version's still very good and valuable, epecially as it's got NTSC Fix. About fixing or not fixing strange-looking sprites, I would have offered that fix as an OPTION [Y/N] as this indeed might be a matter of opinion, so neither traditionalists nor authistic people would have need to complain... ;)

To me in PAL land, I like this version by ROLE very much because of the Joy#2 fix, matters much more to me than how white enemies look like.

All is opinabile and debatable. I considered in my release the white enemies thing more a bug than a feature and I fixed it.
Also for NTSC... In later levels the original will start to flicker as hell and this is why we fixed the IRQ routine.
I am not complaining about this release... It is nice have an hiscore table and other improvements.
No problems at all... I simply pointed out about what was already done before. Peace.

Funny, i also checked on the "white enemies" thing, it is like they are characters first so that is set by color ram and then the sprites that emerge from them are single color, too. Maybe it is the same weirdness that also occurrs in the Night Mission (Pinball) Game. The bitmap *could* be multicolor, but somehow it was more feasible to set it to singlecolor? A "fix" is nice, but does actually alter the assets of the original release.

White enemies are original, I don't want mess around with the craft. All I wanted was a real Highscoretable.

White enemies are "fixed" in our HF release with also a correct NTSC IRQ routine. See for details the documentation of Xerons +4DFH.

White enemies look strange as if they are set to hires but supposed to be multicolor.

Is that Xerons Petscii Screen with music a newly made extra or was it originally in the game? (Ah yes, must be new, Muzak Credit by Wacek... i was a bit shocked there for a moment like "What? 1984!?" [Awesome little Tune!] :-D )
