The Fist Collection Cartridge comes in two versions. The cart “FistCollection.crt” is the initial build, and it only contains games released by - or with - Melbourne House. The cartridge was made on a request from a friend in Australia, and from there the idea of making the Fist Collection Cartridge was born. Now the game “Exploding Fist Plus” is not included on the initial cart, while that game was not made by Melbourne House. It was made by Firebird and released in 1988 - 3 years after the Exploding Fist release from Melbourne House. Also, International Karate Plus by System 3 had joined the scene, one year prior to Firebird..

All in all, a lot of games was released in that period, all building on the same idea. As a vague hint to that fact, I decided to make a title image for the Melbourne House Fist Collection, that was drawn from the cover of - Exploding Fist Plus from Firebird!. Thus, attempting to make a point, that the Exploding Fist Plus release should have been a Melbourne House production, but for some reason Firebird beat them to it. Now to be fair, a never did investigate what programmers wrote what, and who they were working for at the time. I am pretty sure that there must be an interesting story hidden behind all of this.

Nevertheless, my somewhat misplaced joke came back to haunt me - as they always do. Right after I uploaded the Melbourne House Fist Collection, I received the same feedback from various sources: “The Exploding Fist Plus game is missing in the collection”. Seen from a user’s perspective, I must say that I agree. Fist Plus should be there no matter who made it. So, I decided to include the game in a second version called: “FistCollectionPlus.crt”. Thus, the carts - and the games upon them - are now as such:

Fist Collection (AU - Melbourne House)
The way of the Exploding Fist - Melbourne House
Exploding Fist Competition - Melbourne House/Zagon
Fist II The Legend Continues - Melbourne House
Fist II Tournament - Melbourne House
(Hidden game: Rock’n Wrestle - Melbourne House) Hit Shift Space in Menue

Fist Collection Plus
The way of the Exploding Fist - Melbourne House
Exploding Fist Competition - Melbourne House/Zagon
Exploding Fist Plus - Firebird
Fist II The Legend Continues - Melbourne House
Fist II Tournament - Melbourne House
