In the german Forum64 i were asked about such tool to multiconvert. I told that my program is just to add favourite files. If you read the History in the Dox, you can see this Convert function was made as a workaround. After all, you can't compare SidPirat with SidPlay64. I had a look to your code, just to see how you managed to relocate the player...aborted ;) | User Comment Submitted by Tom-Cat on 24 July 2024
With SidPlay64 we wanted to automate adding of playtime, exactly for the reason that you don't have to do it "by hand" for each and every sid. It is using two bytes in the SID that are unused, so the resulting sids are modified but not in any destructive way.
But as you said - the more tools, the merrier. :) | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 24 July 2024
(editing my comment) OK this also supports multispeed tunes, I feared it didn't. | User Comment Submitted by BYB on 23 July 2024
I think it's a point of view. SidPlay64 got the advantages when browsing through SID-folders. SidPirat is making executeables, which doesn't need any player. I see the advantage in adding the playtime without using scripts and a windows based tool, as needed in SidPlay64. Anyway you have to modificate the SID. At all this should be no competing product to SidPlay64 ;) | User Comment Submitted by Tom-Cat on 23 July 2024
Is there any advantage using this as opposed to using Sidplay64 V1.21 which doesn't need any conversion? |
