It took me about a week, I used nothing but a c64 and action replay monitor (not freezer) in the original version and notepad on my PC. Later on I used vicemon so I could more easily copy/paste the code but I knew how it worked already so I don't feel that is cheating.

To examine the drive code and "killer track" I wrote some tools that used the extra ram in my supercard+. I just blind read the track into the 8k buffer until I got a copy that was framed correctly.

I tend to do everything from dead listings first or hand tracing in monitor. I also tend to reverse the protection to the point where I can write tools to extract data and not cheat.

Great write up - glad you kept it and shared it here. I wonder how much time it took you to reverse it and what tools have you been using?
