It only works in Vice when it is loaded as a T64 file. Seems like bit #7 of $D011 is reset in Vice when a tape is loaded. When this file is loaded via a D64 file then it is not working in Vice.

Like iAN CooG mentioned, it has indeed to do with that bit #7 of $D011 is not set to 0 and therefore the IRQ is not triggered because $D012 is set to $F0.

it's just the usual bad IRQ setup, a simple lda#$1b sta $d011 fixes it (it only sets $d012 to $f0). Depending on where the raster is when you run it, it could work or not. Loading times in Vice varies depending on the format and cart attached.

works for me using a clean config (and thus no cart) :)
it not working for you (in vice) could be related to this bug: https://sourceforge.net/tracker/?func=detail&aid=3124881&group_..
edit: it also doesnt work for me using codenet - which most likely means the depacker relies on certain zeropage values. could also mean that it doesnt work in emu when "injected" into memory.

i`ve checked with winvice 2.2.8 (R23120) and hoxs64 1.0.6.2,both are stuck at this screen:

maybe it requires some cart to run.
