If my memory serves me right (oops, it was twenty years ago) there were too many tunes for the competition and a pre-selection took place, Staggerin' Home did not compete.
Up to now I wasn't even aware that it got released anyway directly after TP6. That's why it ended up as an entry for Mekka & Symposium 1997.

I don't know why, but while this tune is listed in the Mekka & Symposium 1997 results, it was in The Party 1996 spreaddisk http://csdb.dk/release/download.php?id=88816 but doesn't appear in the results there. Also to be noted that the tune was already included in The Rip-Disk V which was released in january 1997 (so it's very possible the tune was actually spread in dec 1996 or early jan 1997), 3 months before MS1997 took place.

ah yeah I quite often listen to this tune.
I think it's a great composition by, atleast for me, a bit of an underrated artist.
