@ FZool: 3 C64 entries - still too little, but at least :-/. Just uploaded my Oldschool Pixel entry.
On the demo: I actually quite like it. And it does not promise more than it gives you. | User Comment Submitted by Fzool on 3 January 2007
Thanks for the greetings Murdock! :) And not only because of the greetings i like this production. Sure, no great coding skillz shown, graphics are not on the mirage/mermaid/etc. top level but maybe that is the sharme of it?
Anyway, i am getting older :) Time to like oldskool? o_O
By the way, only two entries from c64 at tUM*o6 is really a shame. Ok, i do not release anything at all. So how could i complain? :P | User Comment Submitted by Platoon on 3 January 2007 User Comment Submitted by fade on 3 January 2007 User Comment Submitted by Higgie on 3 January 2007
@platoon: works fine on winvice 1.16 | User Comment Submitted by Platoon on 3 January 2007
hmmmm isnt working in an emulator = my only way to see it :( crashes after the voice at the very start of it :P | User Comment Submitted by Higgie on 3 January 2007
hmmm... i'm not sure if i like it or not. it's very hard for me to judge. i mostly like people doing oldschool demos but this one lacks continuity. the mixture of charsets and various other style elements is what i don't like in this demo. and i have to agree with scout on the music. ... the tum2006 was a big disappointment for the c64 scene (which according to TWRs scrolltext doesn't exist anymore), i guess. :( but that's my fault as i didn't manage to show up or at least send in some gfx for the compo. ;) | User Comment Submitted by yago on 2 January 2007
Was the ony c64 demo at tum2006, and it crashed.

I understand why it would be fun by making an oldschool demo nowadays but if you do it, do it good.
This demo ain't the way to do it. I've seen better demo's back in 1988.
The gfx by JSL are very dissapointing and the music...well, it's Future Composer but it's not a reason to create an uninspired cacaphony. |
