...here's a towel! Seriously, I am happy to change the date to 2007. Because that is when I ripped it out, as for the code, I did that years ago! The reality is, it was released today - it did happen. So, it is a valid entry, in that regard. So, if changing the release date (for the third time!) is what is needed - I am happy with that. Would that be fair?

@Groepaz: I agree. And although I appreciate the work Motion did, I feel that deleting this entry would be the best option.

Integrity is key.

creamd: this never was released in this form back in 1991. leaving the date as 1991 is bad for the database integrity.

imho the date should be the actual release date, or the entry should be deleted

hehe...don't get me wrong CreaMD, it's ok with me like that too. NO problem about and I do not insist on anything... (c;
I have also overlooked it was a "c64 graphics", and you're right it's not a a code release, but done/released in 2007 anyway...

Marauder. If we decided to put your pragmatic (on first look), but completely insane idea (on second thought) into reality, we would have to add every missing party picture that has been recreated from screenshot to the executable file (for the sake of completeness of download) as a new release. Of course that's just an hypothetical example. Also every music rip that is added as PRG would have to be added as a new release, and you can sure imagine other examples of similar stuff. Everyone could claim that they are doing new releases but in reality that wouldn't be true. It's not a code release. It's a "c64 graphics". The displayer isn't important, the credit here is for the sake of completeness. If you really insist on having it added as 18.june 2007 release, I will have to erase it as a spam before anyone else tries to do the same, by riping out another ingame pic and adding it here.

imho wrong credits. if code is 2007, then this release is it too, no matter if picture is from 1991.
-> code/rip by Motion in 2007 -> pic by Mat in 1991

@CreaMD: I agree completely with your remarks, Roman. :)

Seems like you didn' get what TDJ was saying. In the first place he said that he doesn't see it ok to have such a new single file gfx rip appropriate here and he also said that it seems like abuse to him. I sort of agree with him, but we can leave it like this. 1991 is okay even when displayer is 2007. We cannot start to put everything that is accompained with new player or displayer to latest releases.

@CreaMD: - Hey I'm not arguing with anyone! I'm just doing what The Dark Judge suggested and letting the people decide. It was set as 1991 initially by me, then 2007, then back to 1991. I never added it as a new release until the other scene dudes tightened the noose around me neck and I relented!! I'm happy with what ever sceners are most happy with. All I wanted was just to let MAT get recognition for his fine work. :)

Motion, let's not argue about this. It's an old pic, it shouldn't be in latest releases. If everyone was doing it like this, we could have flood of old stuff being re-released with present release date. If it was never released demo or game, I wouldn't mind, but this picture is already released in a game. I think that this kind of single gfx riping belongs to the same cathegory as e.g. HVSC music updates. Yes, many times the tunes are finally "released" as single files (rips on the date of latest HVSC release, but it's not appropriate to release them one by one as new stuff.

Have you noticed that now the date has changed back to 1991, it now states I am in Cosine again and not GMI!

Changed the date to 1991 a suggested. Someone add the more exact date if necessary.

In my Opinion, the release date should be set to 1991 or so.. The Picture/Game was released back then, and "only" the rip is from today.

I get that, but it's not a real release, is it? And even if it was, the release date would be today, not 1991 .. To me this feels kind of an abuse of csdb.

@Mace: Well, the way I look at it, this is a DB, and I'm interested in adding any entries that are relevant to the scene. Namley this pic was drawn by a legendary COMPUNET user and contributer. I grew up in that era, so it means something to me (...and hopefully some others out there!). :)

Secondly, when I do a search for pics, I'd like to be able to see some results. As for game cracks, their entries don't tend to list who did what in a game, only who cracked or trained it.

I don't get it... why release an old pic just for the credits?
Or do I miss something?

I just hacked this out and made an individual entry, as MAT deserves the credit. Love the hair shading.
