Not sure wether any of the "cracks" is complete since it was never really confirmed, but here comes the funny trivia part on the game:
The copy protection was created by Mr.President ( Mr. President ) and was infact the third protection for this game. It is true that there are several smallish protections within the game (e.g. the part right before the end yields a password protection - compile basic with "basic boss"). However - the loading routines which were done before (the previous two attempts so to say) were not reproducable by the commercial copy machines at blue byte (or even the company which was supposed to make the copies off the master disks).
Now, fellow crackers, imagine to have faced that. :)
