actually I like ILM. Thumbs up for the effort in doing a pic in a new format. | User Comment Submitted by DeeKay on 26 November 2010
Wow... MUIFLI looks so much better! ;-)
And with NUIFLI you even get to use the first three characters...
Sorry, but this ILM thingy needs to get a whole lot more sophisticated to beat M/NUIFLI... | User Comment Submitted by Bitbreaker on 26 November 2010
Welcome back to flickering hell. Maybe your converter could profit from some deflickering algorithms like mufflon uses them for the MUIFLI mode. Just quickly did a plain convert (in fact it is all pixelled by hand, i just copied the idea) for comparison.

@Oswald: your hijacking is always welcome;) This kind of advertising makes people hope for more weird releases. Any chance you get Janee back to C64? Or maybe you have at least some other pictures in this mode with x-shifts...
I just took a look at the turn disc picture in Void: no $d016-access in the whole FLI area, even not when switching frames. Conclusion: What a brilliant picture this is, even without any x-shifting!!! | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 6 September 2010
Janee/Breeze has made a converter which also utilized x shifts on afli lace, he demoes it to me for a whole afternoon. We've asked him to convert a pic for us. God knows why that pic has no xshifts in, I always thought it has. Anyway sorry for hijacking the comments. :) | User Comment Submitted by Copyfault on 6 September 2010
Ofcourse there was some heavy conversion work going on before Prince put the last pixels by hand (see 'Summaries' or 'Prod Info'). Maybe Prince will release his conversion tool some day...
@WEC: ILM has some more features compared to classical IFLI: basically it's Interlace FLI with the following addons:
1. Hires- or Multicolormode can be changed on every rasterline (the MR-FLI mode by Algorithm is similar to this)
2. x-shift can be changed on every rasterline
3. background colour can be changed... guess what: every rasline
4. every frame has its own $D800-colours (e.g. complete $D800-interlace)
5. The two frames can be shifted relatively to each other, e.g. the 2nd frame may have its 1st badline on rasterline $34 (sometimes increases colour matching during conversion)
In "butterfly" Prince only made use of the Hiresmode thus this pic is more an example of what is possible when combining the x-shift-features with IAFLI. We do our best to put out some more ILM pics in the not so distant future making use of the other features also.
@Oswald: I remember you mentioned that before in some thread, but when I checked the turn disk-picture in 'Void' I found that the x-shift-value was the same on every line (=0 iirc). Maybe I missed smth, would have to check it again to be sure.
The old ILM-editor is maybe closer to torture hell than every other c64 pixel tool out there. For quite some years(!) I have plans to create a better one, but up to now I just have half-finished versions on my hd which are not yet ready for the public. | User Comment Submitted by Oswald on 6 September 2010
Void from 97 has a picture as a turndisk part in this exact mode :P :) | User Comment Submitted by Wile Coyote on 6 September 2010
Is ILM the same as IFLI as I really cannot see the difference.
Based on the odd artifacts around the face area, I think it is safe to say the image is a convert.
I like the colours on the branch top right. | User Comment Submitted by Thierry on 6 September 2010
a very nice convertion of Julie Bell pics , i think ... | User Comment Submitted by Ed on 2 September 2010
Looks like a very trashed H.A.M Amiga picture to me, but some cool color combinations. | User Comment Submitted by Zeldin on 31 August 2010
Nice to see new stuff from TOM... | User Comment Submitted by PAL on 31 August 2010
