I was asked for the code for the tile loader, so I have now uploaded an ASM file of it. :) In order to simplify it, I removed the sprite tiles from it and recognition for 'flagged' tiles.

You can use it as a tutorial for bitmap tile loaders, for example.

Nice game! Good thing I have a Retro Adapter so I can play in VICE with my old C64 joystick!

Wonderful game! Plays very nice, only that it is easy to get stuck when you miss an enemy by throwing away one of your swords too fast. Other than that, great gameplay and yes, the anims are nice :)
