"So someone did rip it and pack it. Is it a crack?"
Markus from gb64 cracks a lot of things which arent available in clean version and just packs them. | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 24 June 2012 User Comment Submitted by Doc Strange on 24 June 2012
I would say that maybe SCI just labelled it as it was quite usual at that time but I'm just assuming. Anyway great release guys, well done with the intro screen and nice polished version of this rare oldie. Also nice new intro. | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 24 June 2012
Bepp: Interesting question: You can't say SCI cracked it, and you can't say they did'nt crack it, but still it's a crack. :D It seems they did crack some of the games in their compilations, but only packed others. I have no clue really, more than it's tagged. This Avatar release is nonetheless superior and very well worked out and packaged, indeed. | User Comment Submitted by bepp on 24 June 2012
The version of Mangrove found on that disk was not cracked by SCI. They just recrunched classic games with modern tools. If you check the syslines on the disk you'll notice that it says SCI on all of them, although it was not cracked by them. And uptil recently there was an individual entry for Mangrove on CSDB, wrongly credited to SCI.
Still, the GB version is 11 blocks, as compared to the TAP version which is 20 block. So someone did rip it and pack it. Is it a crack?
Nevertheless, great work with the title screen and docs! Finally this game is (somewhat) playable! =) | User Comment Submitted by hedning on 24 June 2012
