Scarzix, everyone has different opinions, solutions or thought on "how to do what or how things should work". None is right except your own. You are doing excellent music, and a worthy winner of the compo. That's basicly it. Don't put to much into what is written as comments here on csdb (unless what is written makes sense to you).

Was really nice meeting you! Congratz and keep enjoying the moment when you was announced as winner of the music compo at the party! :)

Okay, guess I was I bit tired yesterday then. Missed that point, sorry! As a final note, I also wanna tell that this was actually my first music compo entry EVER, so I also have to "learn the rules" for what is allowed :-) Guess I just did now. Eg. I would have loved to remix my Starhiker and use part of that for the music compo, but I wasnt sure if that would be allowed or it should something different. Ohh well, I managed to be part of the compo. That was my main purpose. And I had fun doing it. I think I am going to release it with a loop in the end as I originally wanted it.

Scarzix. First of all. You didn't get me right. I don't criticize you. I was generally speaking against compo rule specifically requesting 2 min total for the tune. I didn't know you made the compo tune in hurry. So congrats for teh win.

Second. I'm only sure, that if we make a bet I can make a tune in 2 + 1/4 hour in a clean editor without sounds (I expect you will do the same with yours) that will kick your butt in the compo. (on condition that we compete anonymously, or using pseudonyms). I can't guarantee that will win the compo though. Winning the compos is very unpredictable thing and it can depend on preferences of the audience, order of the tunes, length of the compo, voting system etc.

Once again, and with all the respect, congrats for the #1 place. + Scrollwars soundtrack is completely awesome, I really enjoyed it (said that in comment too).

CreaMD Really? Did you perhaps notice that I did two of the tunes in our Scrollwars ?

Each tune were at least 4 minutes. I had 2½ hour left once our demo was finally ready for a release candidate. I had no plans for doing yet a 3rd tune for the music combo, but thought - oh well, if I can make something quick, then I can be part of the fun too and we will have an extra entry. You cant blame me for making a piece that people actually voted for, can you?

I can ask you another way, can you compose a winner tune in 2½ hour ?

I think it would be best to have normal version and then make player fade out after 2:00 just for the purpose of compo. Only excuse for short tunes submitted to the compos is inability of the musician itself to come up with solid radio-friendly length ;-) due to time pressure, or incompetence... (been there done that, multiple times). I mean, killing your perfect idea or creative outburst only because someone has stupid rule, or is unable to fade out after 2 minutes (is it that hard to hold stop-watch during the compo, or record the compo reel in advance?).

The original music-compo rules stated 2 minutes max and secondly it should end clearly. So I tried to do both. Guess you cant please all. Later they changed the max length for 2:30... but I had already composed mine and packed it so. Anyways, I didnt expect to win. I just wanted to enter the compo. :-)
