Well, they are not really illegal, more like undocumented. And not even that holds true nowadays ;)

Nice one, Ninja, though with illegal opcodes. :-) I had thought that probably the only way to make it even shorter would be through using illegal opcodes.

Oswald, credits are there because the effect (and the BASIC ROM trick) was initially Graham's idea and placing the code onto ZP area was tlr's. Both of them made it possible for us to look at this page right now. Oh, and linking credit is just ironic, of course. :-)

Thanks tlr. :-) Yup, compatibility is back and it's funny that after run/stop+restore, pressing return restarts it. :-)

I tried LSR instead of LDA #$05, but it just gives $46 back, missing the green color by one, argh. :-)

I believe there still would be a way to get rid of that TXA, but couldn't figure out yet.

Ed, yes, we'll eventually get into figuring out what is the matrix. :-)
