Nice indeed! I bet you'll do couple of these more that we can have a 360° view, right? :)

@ Mace: The bird is here ;) Also see the my_island_1_2_3.gif.

@ Leon: Nice one again - now please give us Part 1-3 as a scrolling C64 executable.

It feels desolated; no people, no animals (not even a cat or a bird ;-) )

The island starts to look very good and the more it grows, the better the image. As parts, around above-medium in technique and execution. It's great you are working in multi-color bitmap!

I like it too ;-)
However the nice landscape "pattern" makes the image kinda flat since it is too strong to count as dither and doesnt scale with distance.
On the other hand it gives the image a painting like appearance.
Nice for sure.

I get serious Newcomer-vibes (the game) watching this series of images. The flat-roofed houses, the stockade and the fort, the distant forest, the island theme in itself - and not to forget the color-scheme and parts of pixel technique. For more of this, take a look at what happens when Anna Comes to the Island. In which case, it's kind of uplifting to see continuity in a theme like this. Keep it up.
