@ Jak T Rip: No I did not know Proxima was a groupname but lucky they, Now they will get a game with the same name ;)

Regarding your offer, I am currently developing a map-editor (about 75% done) which will do the map-editiong nativly on a C-64 (map/charset/charpixels on 1(!) screen and 1531 support ++) a walk in the park. When the editor is done I can contact you and then I get someone to try it out (who knows what the hell they are doing aswell when it comes to pixeling^^)...

oh, I just read that Mermaid is out of the game!
TWW, if you need help that's probably doable (contact me if I can help). There are many active musicians and graphicians these days.

btw you do know that Proxima was also used as a demo group name? ;)

I hope Proxima will be a better movie than Armageddon... ;-)

These graphics by Mermaid and the music (by Mr. Death?) are really stunning.

Hehehe Believe it or not but this game was thought of before the movie...

However as an update the new name for the Creators game will be "PROXIMA". Hope this doesent collide with someone elses interests :)

My...for such an amazing and promising start, it's a shame everyone couldn't just work together to get it finished. On a platform without major profit for game development, it'll take cooperation to get great games like this finished IMHO.

Had no Idea you had made such a vast amount of logos to this game...

The rest of your efforts in terms of all your notes/lvlgfx/guardians etc hasn't got any name on it so i guestt it would be just as easy to change their filenames as the lines in my sourcecode.

I can't remeber who came up with the name (after all it's frigging 12 years (or more)) ago.

But in the interest of good relations and the fact that there are games already released under this name a new name for our project will be found. More to come on this...

And Utne, Good luck with Armageddon. I officially hand over the (C) and (P) to you.

A really good reason? Besides me kindly asking you to do so?

How about the fact that I was the one who came up with the name in the first place, that I have a bunch of ARMAGEDDON logos that I did which I would very much like to use for my game, several end- and mid-level guardians, animated sprites, 6 or 7 levels in different graphic styles, several intro pictures in various stages of completeness, several pages on paper with notes, sketches, designs for this project.

Meanwhile, your contribution to the project at the time was coding one scrolling demo built around the graphics that I designed before dropping off the face of the earth leaving me looking for another coder.

If you want to make a new game without me, that's great, and really I hope you succeed, I'd just hope you could come up with a new name instead of using mine. I don't think that's too much to ask, really. It's easier to change a line of text in your source code than it is to trash all the logos I did after all?

As you can see in the noter included this is a 'old' release and submitted for historical reasons. In the 1st comment you can also see that the game is idled untill new gfx/mus can be done. So don't worry about your gfx.

The name however is not planned to change unless there is a really good reason for doing so.

status so far:

The first game engine which was made was far too slow and bulky. After that the engine was rewritten into this preview.

The engine has been rewritten again and now it might even be too fast^^ and the cycles used is rediculessly low for pulling gfx of this size. Splitts for multiplexing is also embedded now.

I hope you're not planning to use the name Armageddon for your new game and I'd prefer it if you didn't release any more of my unused Armageddon graphics, thanks <3

This is a previously unreleased preview of the game Armageddon. The entire game has been rewritten (again) after this release and since Mermaid no longer is a part of CTR the game engine will be idled untill we can get someone to do the gfx/mus etc.
