Very interesting. Currently using a debugger to check the code, nice approach.

Nice implementation of the BMP/ECM fetch-delay trick. I guess it uses 39ff and 3fff for dark/character changes, but haven't checked the code yet...
For me it works fine on both old and new real C64 machines.

Nice stuff!!

@Joe: Panoramic was first, but that "I" only had y-movement. 15+ years later, we can has x-movement also :D.

..and if anyone still wonders: No, it's not 9 sprites :), it's 8 + a SuperDöhner trix with extra sauce..

Massive Coderpr0n! 8) Clarence tried to explain it to us, but neither me nor the Glance-Coders really understood it. ;-) Some serious $3fff ownage with 3-char delays due to ECM-Mode-switching at the right border or sth!... Although the ninth "sprite" doesn't seem to be that "free" after all, at least not in the positioning nor in the width (5 px max) or color (needs black background cause of $3fff)! ;-D Nonetheless, Crossbow's gonna love this! 8)

Works correctly on latest Vice build (x64sc-r22414) with parameter -model c64c, or simply with -VICIImodel 8565.

@graham: I'm not so sure that's it. It does run in Hoxs64 which actually emulates old cias.
I think the issue is that it doesn't properly take into account 6569 vs 8565 fetch and mode split latency differences.

That's just a "wow"! I'm getting started to believe there is a hidden 9th sprite in this machine ;) Trick was clear at irrational but this one is harder to guess. Good work pal.

Nice work. Seems he goes into the Chorus Labs, hacks away for a period of time and hey presto, another record. Thumbs up for the VIC TRICK. ;-)

Let me be the first (second) to say: fucking yeah!!! \o/ Clarence does it again -- only Chorus Labs makes it possible. :-)

Please use hoxs64 or real hw -- most emulators can't do this properly.

And one massive beer to Clarence for keeping the tradition of finding new VIC-tricks alive.
