@Hermit: Thanks, bro'! Sometimes I wonder about the condition of the 8580 in my Beast myself :)
@Fredrik: You have an ear for these raw SIDs of mine, for sure :) This is roughly based on an existing unfinished song demo made for one of my my bands with a rather traditional intro-verse-chorus-verse-chorus-midpart-chorus construction. Base riffs only, with missing vocal channel. Considering sounds, I'm totally new with multispeed but it is a nice toy to play with, indeed. Either, it restricts and expands the sound palette, at least in my case.
@Geir: 3rd channel was replaced with a distortion stompbox in my C64, with sync+ringmod premanently engaged ;) Sure, there are way better melody SID composers around than me, 90% of my stuff is about having a pack of LEGO-able powerful base riffs and keeping everything else at minimal. I have a somewhat barebone attitude, 3 channels for me most of the time are: percussion, killer riff low note and killer riff high note that sometimes departs from the base then returns rather soon :) I don't know, I've always enjoyed playing riffs more than solos.
off:
For me it is interesting to see how different every and each composer regards the C64, it shows in the music pretty well. Some take it as an expressive voice of feelings, some as a field of experimentation, some as a balanced landscape of solid facts. Some treat it like a baby, some like a lady, some like an old friend.
I treat it like an axe. Or, a chainsaw :)
STIHL's Letter
I always regarded SID as a powerful generator of raw electric energy turned into soundwaves, exactly in the same way as my guitars and amps. It delivers the same type of power. | User Comment Submitted by GT on 29 July 2010
Not my cup of coffee, even though I enjoy harder music irl, riffy metal etc. I prefer a melody in between the riffs. But that's just me. ;) | User Comment Submitted by Fredrik on 28 July 2010
I must make a comment on this again, it got stuck on my brain, and plays over and over again. Fucking good tune, this!
I like the "drive" in this song. And attitude. and offcourse, the sounds!
The sounds have a "industrial" feeling. That is good
Perfect snare! by the way!
And what Hermit said :)

Yeah, what a metallic drum sound, and the scratch sounds, grreeaatt:)
I see the SID's inner circuitry disassembled here, but still working together. | User Comment Submitted by NecroPolo on 27 July 2010
@Fredrik: Thank you, sir :) I'm glad you like it.
@iAN: :) I guess, there is no one to blame really, I think it will be out soon.
The code "chassis" was ready in early May or so, the music demo is waiting for tunes that haven't been finished yet. Lately, lot of time was consumed when I was preparing for SRA concert on AROK#12 party, no opportunity for a full tune release for EUSKAL that I also wanted to participate so I detached this older (sent to Jan in December or so) subtune from the demo pack. The part will be replaced with a brand new one. Soon, I hope. | User Comment Submitted by iAN CooG on 26 July 2010
heh, so Destronaut 2 got released before the 1 =)
/me blames Jan for delaying the music disk ;) | User Comment Submitted by Fredrik on 26 July 2010
Original! Strange, and very good :)
Thumbs up!
